From the moment you first contact us, you’ll be working with friendly and highly knowledgeable people who are easy to talk to including Dr. Peterson himself. One of the distinctions of our practice is the personal treatment and individual attention each patient receives, and Dr. Peterson prides himself on being accessible to his patients not only before their procedures, but during each step of the recovery process as well.
At your first consultation, you should be prepared to discuss your goals, questions, and concerns with Dr. Peterson. Bringing in photos of examples of your post-surgical goals are also very useful. After this discussion, Dr. Peterson will outline his recommendations and present illustrations and before and after photos to give you a good idea of what to expect. The risks and benefits will be outlined also and pricing will be discussed. Non-surgical procedures such as Botox and dermal fillers can usually be performed during your visit if you choose to proceed.
For surgery patients, about 1-2 weeks before your procedure, you will come in for a second visit. You’ll meet with our nurse and Dr. Peterson who will completely review your procedure in detail, health history, after care instructions, and answer any questions you may have. Lab work will also be performed and prescriptions for medication will be given. For this visit, we encourage you to bring along whoever will be helping you with recovery so they can learn how to best care for you.
Your procedure will be performed in one of our surgical suites. After your procedure is complete, you’ll spend a brief time in the recovery room with a recovery room nurse always present. Your recovery will be carefully monitored and you’ll be released as soon as you’re ready to go home, in most cases an hour.
Generally, your first follow-up visit will be scheduled the day after your procedure. We will then see you typically at your 1 week, 2 week, and 6 week mark. Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Peterson will always be present at your follow-up visits to ensure that your recovery is complete and monitor the results of your procedure.
